Why Families Choose Annie’s Doodles
Families come to Annie’s Doodles looking for a companion who fits naturally into life—and for a breeder they can trust for years to come.
For two decades, we’ve done things one way: fewer, intentional litters; parent dogs with steady temperaments; puppies raised in real family life; and a process that prioritizes fit over volume.
This isn’t about selling puppies — it’s about helping families find dogs that truly belong.
What Families Notice First and Remember Most
Family Raised
Every puppy is born and nurtured in our home and on our working farm — not in kennels. From the beginning, they experience children, routines, other animals, and the rhythm of everyday life.
“Our puppy is everything and then some… beyond her amazing temperament… she is truly the cutest dog.”
— Johanna
Calm Temperament
Our breeding and early handling focus on emotional steadiness and people-attuned dogs—that are comfortable playing outdoors, settled at home, and adaptable to real family life.
“Our puppy rarely barks, is smart, sensitive, and very observant… she cuddles with you when you need it.”
— Aimie
Tested & Guaranteed
We invest deeply in health testing and stand behind every puppy with a two-year health guarantee — not as a selling point, but as accountability for the dogs we bring into the world.

The People Behind the Doodles
Annie’s Doodles Breeding Philosophy
Why Families Trust Us with a 10–15 Year Decision
Choosing a breeder isn’t just about finding a puppy. It’s about deciding who you trust to shape the earliest weeks of a dog you’ll love for years.
Our Process: Intentional From the Start
Several times a year, my husband, Boone, and I (Annie) sit down together to thoughtfully plan upcoming mama and papa pairings. These conversations happen around their farmhouse table — reviewing lineage, temperament, health history, and the long-term direction of the program.
Many of the dogs in our program have been with us for multiple generations. This allows us to offer greater consistency in temperament, coat, and structure — not by accident, but through careful, relationship-driven decisions made over time.
During this process, we also identify litters that may produce puppies we hope to retain for our own future breeding or to place with trusted colleagues. For this reason, Annie’s Doodles retains breeder’s choice on each litter. This ensures we can continue prioritizing the long-term quality and integrity of the dogs we raise — while still recognizing that wonderful companions come from every carefully planned pairing.
Health Testing & Ethical Standards
Before any dog enters our breeding program, they must meet clear health and temperament standards. We follow a rigorous health-testing protocol designed to support the long-term wellbeing of our dogs and the families who welcome their puppies home.If a prospective mama or papa does not meet these standards, they are spayed or neutered and placed in a carefully chosen forever home — but are never bred. This is a non-negotiable part of our ethics.Health testing results for each dog are shared transparently on their individual bio pages, because informed families make confident decisions.
At Annie’s Doodles, we believe:
-
Fewer, more intentional litters are better than volume
-
Temperament matters just as much as appearance
-
Long-term health should never be a trade-off
Every pairing is chosen carefully. Every puppy is known as an individual. And every family relationship matters beyond puppy pickup day. We focus on thoughtful placement—because the right match benefits the dog just as much as the family.
